A Tribute to Academic Excellence: Launch of the Felicitation Volume for Emeritus Professor Tilak Kariyawasam

The ceremony of assuming duties of the newly appointed Head of the Department of Pali and Buddhist Studies, Senior Lecturer Ven. Deniyaye Paññāloka Thera was held on 12 March, 2026 (at 10:00 AM) at the department premises.
The occasion was graced by the chair professor of the Department, Senior Professor Venerable Nābiritthankadawara Gnāṇaratana Nayaka Thera and the former Head of the Department, Senior Professor Venerable Makuruppe Dhammānanda Thera, along with the members of the Maha Sangha. Sacred Buddhist protective blessings (seth pirith) were chanted to invoke blessings on the new Head.
All professors along with academic and non-academic staff of the department were also present to extend their good wishes and blessings.
We sincerely wish the new Head of the Department strength and courage as he takes forward, from now on, the leadership of the esteemed Department of Pali and Buddhist Studies at the University of Kelaniya to render services to both the local and international student and academic communities.
කැලණිය විශ්වවිද්යාලයේ පාලි හා බෞද්ධ අධ්යයන අංශයේ අභිනව අංශාධිපති ලෙස ජ්යෙෂ්ඨ කථිකාචාර්ය, පූජ්ය දෙනියායේ පඤ්ඤාලෝක හිමියන් වැඩ භාරගැනීමේ අවස්ථාව 2026: 03: 12 දින පෙ. ව. 10.00ට එම අධ්යයන අංශයේදි ඉතා ගෞරවාන්විත ව සිදු විය.
මෙම අවස්ථාවට අධ්යයනාංශයේ විනේතෘ ජ්යෙෂ්ඨ පූජ්ය මහාචාර්ය නාබිරිත්තන්කඩවර ඤාණරතන නාහිමිපාණන් වහන්සේ, හිටපු අංශාධිපති ජ්යෙෂ්ඨ මහාචාර්ය පූජ්ය මකුරුප්පේ ධම්මානන්ද හිමිපාණන් වහන්සේ ඇතුළු මහා සංඝරත්නය සහභාගි වූ අතර උන්වහන්සේලා සෙත් පිරිත් සජ්ඣායනා කොට ආශීර්වාද කළහ.
මෙහි දී සියලු ම මහාචාර්යවරුන් ප්රධාන අධ්යයන හා අනධ්යයන කාර්ය මණ්ඩලයේ සැම දෙනා සහභාගි වී ආශීර්වාද ප්රාර්ථනා කිරීම කිරීම සිදු විය.
කැලණිය විශ්වවිද්යාලයේ උරගල බඳු පාලි හා බෞද්ධ අධ්යයන අංශයට ඉදිරියේ දී නායකත්වය දෙමින් ඊට අනුබද්ධ දේශීය හා ජාත්යන්තර ශිෂ්ය හා ශාස්ත්රීය ප්රජාවට ඉමහත් සේවාවක් කිරීමට නව අංශාධිපති හිමියන්ට සියලු ශක්තිය ධෛර්යය ලැබේවායි අපි ප්රාර්ථනා කරමු.
